Product Overview

The fuel filling system functions in a sealed system. The fuel nozzle is connected to the fuel receiver located at the bottom of the fuel tank. When the nozzle handle is turned to the “open” position, the fuel pump begins to pump diesel into the tank. As the tank continues to fill, air escapes through the breather valve located at the top of the tank. When the diesel reaches the breather valve, a plastic ball in the breather valve cage rises with the diesel and seals against the O-ring, preventing air from escaping from the tank. At this point, the pressure inside the tank increases rapidly. The fuel nozzle detects this pressure (7-9 psi) and automatically shuts off to prevent further fuel from entering the tank.
